A BRIEF BIOGRAPHY
My name is Carey Clark and I am the creator and author of this site.
I grew up in the home of a Baptist preacher. In my sophomore year in college, I was invited by a Guatemalan student to bring my trumpet and join a musical team he was organizing to spend the summer in missions touring Mexico and Guatemala.
Our first meeting that summer on the way to Mexico was at an Atlanta Youth-for-Christ rally. At the rally, I met a beautiful student I had seen at the university. We corresponded during the summer and right after my graduation we (Jenny and I) married. Lord willing, we will celebrate our 56th wedding anniversary this coming May and we are in love now more than ever.
For the next 45 years we were missionaries in Latin America and Europe. Our 5 children were all born in Latin America and grew up in Spain. After they were all married, Jenny and I were invited to serve in Austria, Germany, France and the Caribbean. We attended a Youth With A Mission school in Switzerland and went with YWAM on a missions tour of Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Southwestern Europe.
Along the way, Jenny and I became fluent in Spanish and German. I can also do pretty well in French. I did graduate studies in Spanish and German Universities and got a Masters in Spanish Education with German as a third language at the University of Colorado in Boulder. That led to a brief teaching career in my sixties in Colorado. Then last year I came out of hiding and taught Spanish Literacy and English as a 2nd language in the Minneapolis Public School system.
We “happened” to be living in Germany, not far from the Czech, East German and Austrian borders, when the walls began crumbling between East and West. We organized groups of young people and taught them Christian Street Theater. The participants came from all over Europe, Canada, the US and Latin America. It was an exciting experience to be in the midst of the reshaping of Europe.
About 4 years ago, our second son, Dan, introduced us to Network Marketing. He had a radio program and has been highly successful in two Companies. Seeing many people fail in MLMs gave me an intense desire to learn something that would equip the average person entering Network Marketing for success.
As you can see by the recent picture above, even though we feel great, my wife and I are no longer youngsters. I am writing this brief biography a few weeks before my 78th birthday.
Rest of the story
At the age of 61, while living in Northeastern Bavaria in Germany, in response to health issues I went on a 40 day fast. During that fast, I learned some powerful things about nutrition and wellness that have revolutionized my life. Building on these wellness principles and on a strong spiritual foundation can reward us with a long, happy and useful life. When we combine principles of health with effective entrepreneurship, while honoring our heavenly Father in all we do, we become more useful servants of God and our fellow human beings.
After that fast in 1996, I went on a raw food diet. At first I rejected any kind of supplements. I have since learned that supplements such as high quality vitamin B6, B12 with folic acid and vitamin D3 are very beneficial.
